A new gala for us; the quality of competition was excellent. Last night four teams fought for the honours, Bracknell, Bournemouth, Locks Heath and Wandsworth. Only 33 points separated the four teams at the end of an evening of great swims.

We had a number of first time and novice swimmers last night, Dominic Mackenzie, Caroline Meinhardt, Imogen Kalinauckas, Renee Black, Chavez Sacre, Erik Sullivan and Nicole Brown, all of whom had great swims.

There were many PBs and some exceptional swims, Serissa Aboagye who took 4.5 secs off her 50m Fly time to record 40.54, Hugo Muirhead who shaved his 50m Fly time by 8 secs with a 45.89. Nicole Brown a 5.5sec reduction in the 50m Freestyle to a record 41.07secs. All these achievements were the fastest in their age groups this year!

Smaller improvements that also moved the swimmer to the top of the club rankings were recorded by Ediz Bayraktar in the 50m Fly with 38.57secs, Mitchell Knight 50m Back in 42.82 sec and finally Dimitri Soldati with two age group topping swims, 50m Back in 42.13 sec and 50m Breast in 51.88 sec.

Apologies to the remainder of the team whom I haven't named but well done for an excellent evening's performance.
