Results: Windsor Open – Saturday 10th May On this particularly busy and cold Saturday - we also had swimmers at the post-Bath Cup gala, Beckenham Open and Minor League Round 2 - 31 swimmers made it to Windsor. They all competed very well over both sessions. The day had some great swims, which gained the majority of our swimmers PBs, 49 in all. Those who gained a place, put in some good performances to maintain position and, in some cases, improve on their original seeding. The tally at the end of the day was: 49 PBs from 31 swimmers out of approx, 90 swims. There were seven Trophies (1st – 3rd and Age Group) and 16 placings (4th – 8th). Congratulations to all swimmers, especially the ‘first timers’, who made it and to their parents for making the long trek out to Maidenhead. Thank you to those who stayed and vocally supported the Wandsworth team (cushions are definitely needed on those balcony seats). Thanks to Alan and Maggie Thurlow, Bob Fryer and Rachel Wood for standing in at the last minute to help Windsor out and John Mills and Marina Pollara for assisting/guiding the swimmers during the sessions. Thankfully it wasn’t any
early start but it was still quite a long day, finishing around 9.00pm, but it
was successful. |
