Welcome to the WSC Centenary Championships. We hope that they will be the
biggest and best since we were founded in 1902. There are more entries than ever
and we aim that every member should have the chance to swim and record times
whether they are for a club record, entry into major galas or to do a personal
best. It is good to see so many of our younger swimmers entering a wide range of
events.
Presentations will take place on 1 February at our annual party. New trophies
are being awarded this year for the boy and girl in each age group (between 8
and 16 years) with the best overall performance in the 200m events. These
trophies are to encourage participation and familiarisation in these events,
particularly for the younger swimmers where these feature so prominently in the
Surrey County Championships.
We will be using the one start rule and applying the normal rules but will use
our discretion with the younger and less experienced swimmers. Age is at 31
December 2002.
Entries listed in the programme are as at 20 November but if you make a last
minute decision to swim in an event that you haven't entered, you are welcome to
come along on the day and swim as long as you present yourself at the beginning
of the session.
