Wandsworth Junior Borough Championships 2011

The 2011 Junior Borough Championships was held on Sunday 6 November at Putney Leisure Centre.

The Wandsworth Borough Championships is an important gala for the club.  It fosters good relationships with our fellow competitive swimming clubs in Wandsworth and supports the Wandsworth Borough Council's sport for all initiatives.  There are no qualifying times but you do need to be able to swim the stroke legally over the distance entered.  The competition is run under ASA Laws and Technical Rules.  This is a particularly important meet for our younger swimmers to introduce them to the highs and lows of competitive swimming.

It is a step up for those swimmers who have taken part in our Mini Galas at Ibstock School.  It is a licensed meet so times gained can used for entry into other open galas requiring licensed entry times.

The individual entry fee was £2 per event. There were also medley and freestyle relays which were paid for by the club; the teams for which were selected by the coaches.  Eligibility is based on age but you must not have won a medal in the main Borough Championships that were held in June.
