Guy Davis
Guy, a parent, has recently returned to competitive masters swimming after
many years, having enjoyed open water swimming while living in the US.
He is a former national age group (1970) and national masters champion (1984)
and GB age group and junior international (freestyle and IM, 1975-76). Over the
years, Guy has enjoyed swimming all over the world – favourites include training
under Jon Jon Park in Johannesburg in 1983, with Pablo Morales at Stanford in
the late 80s and at Santa Barbara in the oceanfront pool – but his all time
favourite event has been the Chesapeake Bay Bridge swim (5 miles open water). He
is looking forward to developing his coaching skills as an assistant coach under
the guidance of John, Tony and the WSC coaching team and supporting Rod in
realising his high ambitions for the club.
Milton Sills
Milton taught sport in primary schools for 10 years under the Inner London
Education Authority. He spent summer holidays training with some of the Irish
national swimming squad in the early 1970's (one of his cousins represented
Ireland in the Olympics). Having three children swimming in the Club he was
asked to help out. That was a few years ago, since then he has taken and passed
his lifeguard qualification and the ASA Assistant Teachers and Teachers
certificate. Milton is also a member of the ISTC. He takes the squads at the
Bank of England and covers for coaches in other squads. He is also an ASA
official.
